IMPORTANT – have your say once again on the Kettering Energy Park revised draft masterplan document

A consultation has opened on revised proposals for an energy park to the east of Burton Latimer.

In April 2023, a consultation asked for views on an initial draft masterplan for Kettering Energy Park which outlined a vision for the site at Burton Wold and how it could be developed. Comments and feedback have now been considered and a revised masterplan is now out for consultation.

The new masterplan is currently subject to a six-week public consultation which runs up until Wednesday 15 May. The masterplan and a feedback form can be found on the Kettering Energy Park website.

Please note: if you gave comments and feedback relating to the original masterplan, they no longer apply.  You need to look at the revised masterplan and respond.  If you have any comments to make, please go to the site and give your feedback.

Home Upgrade Grant (HUG 2) – Are you eligible for a grant?

HUG2 is a Government grant scheme that funds energy-saving upgrades for residents with off-grid gas heating systems who are most likely to be impacted by the high cost of energy bills – funding is open to private tenants, landlords and home-owners.

This could help you to use less energy, reduce your carbon footprint and spend less on your energy bills.

Eligibility

Grants are open to home-owners and private tenants who meet all 3 criteria:

  1. Homes not heated by mains gas (oil, coal, LPG or only electric heating)
  2. Households with a combined annual income of less than £31,000 (this will increase to £36,000 on 2 April 2024) or receiving certain income-related means-tested benefits such as Universal Credit or you live in an Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) area
  3. Hard to heat homes – this is based on your home Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). You will be helped with this part of the assessment and receive a free EPC assessment if you don’t have one already

Landlords (who have four or fewer properties) will be able to apply but will need to contribute at least one third of the cost of the upgrades in addition to the funding provided. This will be agreed before work begins.
