Great Addington public phone box consultation
BT are proposing to remove 29 low volume payphones within the district and one which has been identified for removal lies within our parish.
The payphone in Great Addington has made 2 calls in the last twelve months is located in Main Street Great Addington, ENC would appreciate any comments the Parish Council have regarding the proposal.
in order for the council to respond we would like to hear from residents what their views are. The consultation is also open to the public if anyone would like to comment directly.
Full details of the consultation can be found here:

A number of suggestions can be found on web site below . We think the best use for it would be to house a “Defibrillator ” would be brilliant and could be a life saver for GA residents.
The phone box is part of the village, old red phone boxes like ours should be listed as they have been a part of our heritage. Even if BT decommissioned the phone, the box should remain, however, the moment BT decommission the phone, someone would possible need it to dial 999. The maintainence of the phone equipment is a small cost in comparison to the value the phone box has to a traditional English village like Gt Addington. If the phone box is removed it would encourage traffic to drive up the grass verge even more than present. Keep our traditional village please which includes the phone box even if it is only used for 2 calls a year.
